Unfortunately, it's not clear why you can no longer save data. In this case, you might have to jump from Office 2000 to Office 2013, and absorb more than a decade of change all at once.
Finally, when you do upgrade, you face a very steep learning curve.
Your software is no longer supported, and therefore represents a security risk. When this happens, you end up using slow products with compatibility problems, because the newer versions have extra features and, often, new file formats.
However, if you're running a business, it's a really bad idea to fall off the trailing edge.
Others prefer to be on the trailing edge, and only update when they have to. When it comes to technology, some people like to be on the leading edge, buying new products when they come out. Would you be able to offer any kind of advice? Walter
Others say I would have to download Windows 7 or 8 in order to upgrade my Office package. Some say I can just purchase Office 2010 or 2013 software. However, I have received conflicting advice/opinions. I now can no longer save any data on work spreadsheets sent to me by another company.
Right Click BLOCK OUTLOOK > Disable Rule (or Delete if you don't think you'll ever need it again).I have a Windows 2000 office product installed on a Vista laptop PC purchased in 2007. AND, blocking it with the firewall guarantees no inadvertent deselecting "Work Offline." You will see at the bottom right that Outlook is just "disconnected." The "Work Offline" mode will not be enabled, but your Outlook will have no internet access. The registry option isn't hard, but it's a hex entry which can be difficult to handle. You can now run outlook offline without having to changing stuff in the registry. Name it something: BLOCK OUTLOOK > Finish This Program > Ctrl V > Remove the double quotes at the beginning and end. RIGHT click "Outbound Rule" > "New Rule"Ħ. Windows Key + R (to open Run Box) > type wf.msc and click ok.Ĥ. Shift Right Click on Outlook > Copy As Pathģ. Note: If you want to connect Microsoft Outlook to the mail server now, please click the Work Offline button on the Send/Receive tab again in Outlook 20, or click the File > Work Offline in Outlook 2007. Meanwhile, you will see the following Outlook icon at the Windows Taskbar if the Microsoft Outlook 20 is working offline. Note: If Microsoft Outlook is working offline, you will view the Working Offline (or Offline in Outlook 2007) on the Status Bar at the bottom of Microsoft Outlook.
